EXCALIBUR MASTERBUILT – Viper Classic 36/18 Tone, Small Package
The design goal for the EXCALIBUR MASTERBUILT was to create the ultimate blues and classic rock amp and package it for mobility--a sort of grab and go tone monster for working musicians. We limited its power to 36/18 Watts RMS to give players cranked amp tone at levels useful in smaller venues like clubs and blues jams and in the recording studio. With two distinctly different preamp designs built into two completely isolated channels, a brand new global reverb circuit, a unique Mode control, and a variable recording line out, the versatility of the EXCALIBUR MASTERBUILT CLassic is unparalleled in the market today

Channel One - Simplicity Defined
Voiced for midrange emphasis, early breakup, and vintage touch response, channel one is excellent for rich leads that really cut through the mix in live situations. This channel starts to get some hair with the volume on 2 with humbuckers and on 4 with single coils. From there, the overdrive tone glides toward heavier sounds until maxing out a little beyond the tone of vintage ZZ Top. Channel one has a single gain stage before the phase inverter, meaning this channel is all about power tube overdrive. It makes the most of the EL84's tendency to overdrive easily, and our custom phase inverter design keeps the inverter out of the way to give the preamp direct access to the power tubes. This channel snarls and growls like no other, but remains so touch sensitive you will swear there is nothing between your guitar your ears. Every nuance of your playing comes through when you
plug into channel one.

Channel Two - Max Versatility
Sporting a full tone stack, channel two adds versatility in tone shaping to the principles upon which we
designed channel one. The EXCALIBUR MASTERBUILT Viper Classic 36/18 second channel is a preamp designed to extract maximum flexibility from the power amp in terms of gain structure and tone shaping capability. Its voice leans toward scooped mids with slightly emphasized treble and bass and its highly effective tone stack lets you dial in the exact EQ you hear in your head. With its three cascaded gain stages, it is capable of both more and less clean headroom than channel one. Whether you are trying to channel Hendrix, SRV, or Warren Haynes, this channel won't let you down.

Components
Hand-selected premium components make up the heart of the EXCALIBUR MASTERBUILT. We auditioned many different types and brands of resistors, capacitors, tubes, transformers, and other electronic parts to find exactly the right mix of components to make the Excalibur sound its best. Best of breed parts such as AXIS CUSTOM TRUE TONE speakers, Silver Mica capacitors, electrolytic, boutique transformers, and cables punctuate this rigorous selection process. We took it a step further and chose overbuilt structural components and manufacturing methods such as a laser punched 2mm thick aluminium chassis, stainless steel hardware, and a void less 13 ply Baltic birch cabinet that is heavily braced for a lifetime of reliability. The Plexi face plate is from the back printed, which while very expensive, will never fade, crack, or have its lettering scratch off. In short, the EXCALIBUR Viper Classic 36/18 is MASTERBUILT to last forever.
